Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-growing new media organisation. This role will report to the UK & European Financial Controllers and will give the successful applicant exposure to all of the accounting functions of the business. It will be a challenging and varied role.

Duties and responsibilities

• Assisting the preparation of monthly management reporting
• Preparation of regular journal entries
• Calculation of Bonus and Commission payouts for the European team
• Involvement in budgeting and forecasting for the European business
• Generation of monthly intercompany invoices
• Preparation of weekly bank reconciliations
• Cover for the AP and AR teams during holiday periods
• Assistance with process documentation
• Review and processing of staff expenses
• Ad hoc projects and reporting

Required skills and abilities

• Good accounting background with exposure to all finance functions
• Highly numerate and analytical
• Good IT skills, with proficiency in Excel and experience of at least one accounting package
• Excellent interpersonal skills / ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across the business
• Ability to manage their work flow and hit deadlines
• Ability to prioritise tasks from the management team

Education and/or experience

• AAT and/or part qualified or a good accounting based degree
• Minimum of 1 years practical accounting experience
• Evidence of a good educational background (A levels as a minimum)
